Do You Need a Parasite Cleanse?
Do you need a parasite cleanse? When I discovered I was infected with parasites -liver flukes to be exact- I didn’t even know it. I actually decided to go on the cleanse because someone suggested that many of their maladies were the result of having parasites. Why not? I also wanted to support my husband who I figured would probably be more at risk than I was. Oh, did I have a come to Jesus moment. For a quick moment I felt bewildered, shocked, and yes… grossed totally out; but I was determined to ascertain the cause. I knew one day I would look back at this day and like the picture that hangs on wall says, “Grow through what you go through,” would one day be my mantra.
What is a parasite?
A parasite is any organism that lives and feeds off of another organism. They survive by taking nutrients from this host. Intestinal parasites are tiny. Usually, they are parasitic worms that feed off the material in your body. People can become infected with liver flukes by swallowing the parasite, which most commonly occurs through the intake of contaminated water or raw vegetables.
What are the types?
There are three types of parasites that can cause diseases in humans.
Protozoa: Protozoa parasites are single-celled organisms. Protozoa can only multiply, or divide, within the host.
Helminths: These are worm parasites. They are usually visible to the naked eye at their adult stage. Unlike protozoa, they cannot multiply in humans. People with light soil-transmitted helminth infections usually are asymptomatic. Acute infections can cause a range of health problems, which include diarrhea, abdominal pain, blood and protein loss, along with other major problems.
Ectoparasites: These live on rather than in their hosts. They include lice, fleas, and mosquitos.
What do parasites look like in feces?
In stools, the worms look like small pieces of white cotton thread. Pin worms are often difficult to see because of their size and white color. The male worm is rarely seen because it remains inside the intestine. It is recommended that the best time to search for pin worms is at night, when the female comes out to lay her eggs.
Flukes
Liver flukes (Fasciola) are also another type of parasitic flatworms that affect the bile duct and liver. These flatworms may cause liver fluke disease (fascioliasis). Flukes are a flat worm that have two ventral suckers that allows them to attach to their host. There are many varieties of flukes such as blood flukes, pancreas flukes, intestinal flukes, liver flukes, and lung flukes. Blood flukes are microscopic whereas liver flukes can be seen in the stool. Some people will see liver flukes when they do liver flushes. These are usually the older flukes that have been flushed out.
Liver fluke disease (fasciolosis) is caused by the trematode parasite. They make their home in the intestines, blood, or tissues. If they are left untreated, infections may persist for up to 25–30 years, the lifespan of the parasite.
What do liver flukes they look like
Liver flukes live in the liver and they resemble tomato skins. As they grow inside the liver, the blood stains them, pink, then red, then darker shades of red. It’s reported that flukes that live in the liver can become stained over time from bile and blood. Older flukes can be dark red, even black in color because of being stained by blood in the liver because they have been in the liver for so long. Younger liver flukes are pink in color – while the fresh larvae is white.
How many people are affected?
Many people are infected with parasites and don’t even know it-like I was. They have worms, flukes, etc. and are a a-symptomatic. Many parasites can live in you up to thirty years! While others experience health issues, the signs and symptoms of being such as IBS, adrenal fatigue, diarrhea, abdominal cramping, thyroid disorders, fatigue etc. Dr. Timothy Ray research found that 99.9% of Americans actually have parasites:
- 1 billion people are infected with nematodes (roundworms)
- 1 billion people are infected with protozoa (such as amoebas)
- 1/2 billion people are infected with arthropod (insects)
- 300 million are infected with cestodes (tape worms)
- 300 million are infected with trematodes (liver flukes)
As I was trying to ponder how I contracted parasites. I discovered there are number of ways to contract a parasite. First, parasites can enter your body through contaminated food and water. Because I am a plant-based eater, I ruled this one out. Second, parasites can come from unclean or contaminated fruits and vegetables can also harbor parasites. Finally, Some parasites can even enter the body by traveling through the bottom of your foot.
Bingo! I am quite sure I contaminated myself!!! I never really took the time to religiously rinse or scrub my fruit and veggies. Yes, I do remember times going in the yard without shoes as I was “earthing” because of benefits derived from it such as helping to stimulate our nervous system, boosts our immune system, and makes us less vulnerable to diseases.
One of the best ways to test for a parasite is to get a stool test. My doctor ran a stool test and it came back negative. I had a jar of worms so I knew the test wasn’t accurate. Perhaps the living parasite died by the time it got where it needed to go to be tested. Who knows. I knew I had to be aggressive and diligent in conquering this parasitic problem. Remember that many tests reveal a false negative simply because not all pathogens are tested. A comprehensive Gut Bacteria & Parasite Test 3-day stool test might be your best option, or you can take the less expensive route like I did.
Below is my protocol. I had to go hard on expelling these parasites from my body. I almost stopped the first week after taking the formula and said that it wasn’t working, but it was. It wasn’t until I examined my feces to see what was inside, did I discover all sorts of things. I cried, prayed and cried some more. I was infected with worms. I told the Lord, if He would heal me I would share my story and protocol unashamedly with others. So, here it is raw. I actually have a jar of my worms. I know. TMI already. Monthly, I check my bowels to make sure I am in good in addition to following laws of health. (See Blog) So, if you’re experiencing any of the following symptoms you might just have worms.:0

Protocol
Black Walnut
These hulls contain natural chemicals called tannins and quinine. These compounds give the herb the ability to expel worms, larvae and other parasites. It is known to kill over a hundred types of parasites, in the developmental and adult stages. Black walnut is used to to kill parasites throughout the body and the intestine. It expels intestinal parasites, worms and yeast.
Cloves
Parasites lay thousands of eggs every day. Cloves work to kill the eggs, so no parasite cleansing protocol would be complete without cloves. Cloves contain a very strong germicidal agent, which works very effectively in killing adult parasites and their larvae (roundworms and flatworms).
Wormwood
Wormwood is a very bitter herb. I see why parasites hate it. Wormwood is also valued, especially for its tonic effect on the liver, gallbladder and digestive system.
Mimosa Pudica
Mimosa Pudica actively paralyzes parasites and forces them to fall away from their position on intestine walls. This means that parasites can be effectively flushed from your system. This supplement is effective because it plays multiple parts in recovery. Not only does it bind the toxins in the body, but it also repairs cell membranes. On top of that, it delivers positive nutrients into the blood and digestive system.
Binders
When killing parasites, they release toxins into the body. It is imperative to include binders in the protocol so your body does not reabsorb the toxicity. A good colon cleanser is recommended.
Formula #1
Mimosa Pudica Seed-s a very powerful anti-parasitic herb. It has properties to mildly “stun” adult parasites, then suffocates them.
Anti-Parasite Formula Blend- Kills cysts and eggs.
Colon Cleanse- binding of toxins so that they can be safely passed in the stool

Formula #2
Black Walnut- Black walnut hull creates a toxic environment for many microbes without causing harm to the host.
Wormwood- Others claim that wormwood simply anesthetizes intestinal parasites, causing them to loosen their grip so that they can be eliminated with bowel movements.
Cloves- contains Eugenol is thought to dissolve the hard casing around parasite eggs.

Foods to Avoid
Sugar: Parasites love sugar. Sugary foods feed parasites and lowers ones defenses to ward off infection. Foods high in sugar reduce vitamin b and essential minerals needed by the body. The body breaks down refined sugar rapidly, causing insulin and blood sugar levels to escalate. At all cost avoid sugary foods if you are infected with parasites.
Sweet Fruit: Fruit breaks down into sugar quickly. It is best to avoid fruit while on the cleanse. Berries, pineapples, pomegranate, and green apples are appropriate.
Processed Foods: Processed foods are loaded with sugar and oil. It lowers one’s immunity and make it hard for the body to cleanse the system.
Refined Carbs: These lead to sugar imbalances in the body and greater strain on your system that is already carrying the unnecessary weight of parasites. Avoid sweet breads, cookies, sugary cereal, and pasta.
Alcohol: Alcohol does not allow for proper healing because it is not good for your mental well-being. It also weakens the immune system. Alcohol negatively affects your brain first, then your kidneys, lungs and liver. It slows down the chemicals and pathways your brain uses to control your body functions.
Refined Grains: Grains such as white rice white flour, white rice, white bread, etc. undergo a refining process that removes many nutrients, losing the most nutritious parts of the grain which is the fiber. The body breaks down refined sugar rapidly, causing insulin and blood sugar levels to elevate. This causes you to still feel hungry after you have eaten.
Pork/Red/Shrimp/Meat/Sushi: May be highly contaminated with parasites so it is best to avoid these especially when on the protocol.
