Simple & Healthy Vegan Sally Lunn Style Bread

Simple & Healthy Vegan Sally Lunn Style Bread is an incredibly light, slightly sweet bread. A nice, simple sweet treat that is satisfying to the palate. It is a famous British bread that dates back to the 1600s. This recipe is not only quick and easy to prepare,  it’s vegan! It’s great with homemade jam, almond butter slathered on with honey, or just simply eaten alone.  You can also add to its presentation by baking it in different pans.

Simple & Healthy Vegan Sally Lunn Style Bread Ingredients

1 cup of hot almond milk

3 1/2 cups of All Purpose Flour

½ cup butter or less to your liking

¼ cup of organic sugar

¼ cup warm water

1 tsp. salt

1 package dry yeast

9 Tbsp. Just Egg liquid (a mung-bean-based liquid egg substitute)

Simple & Healthy Vegan Sally Lunn Style Bread Directions

Combine yeast and warm water in a bowl; let stand for 5 minutes. Then mix the hot milk, sugar, and salt and let cool until lukewarm. Add the dissolved yeast and Just Eggs to the first mixture and beat vigorously at medium speed with an electric mixer until well blended.

Gradually, add flour, beating at the lowest speed until blended. (Mixture will be a sticky, soft dough.) Cover and let rise in a warm place until the dough has doubled in bulk.

Spoon into a buttered loaf pan or line with parchment paper. Bake in a preheated 350-degree oven for 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Let the bread cool thoroughly. After cooling, lift the bread from the pan. Gently lift it out of the pan with the parchment paper and let cool.

Note: Yeast breads should not be eaten right away. Allow bread to rest for 48-72 hours. This allows the yeast to evaporate from the bread.

Bible Quotes

Psalms 37:25

I have been young and now I am old,
Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken
Or his descendants begging bread.

Spirit of Prophecy Quotes (Ellen White)

Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat. Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven: but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread. And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst…. I am that bread of life. Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
